2019 Zoning Commission Meeting Schedule

***Board of Zoning Appeals Public Hearing – Thursday – 07/18/2019 at 7:00 p.m. on application #1447-19, submitted by Ron Dinardo requesting relief from Article VI, Section 607.0, Paragraph A, Driveway shall be setback a minimum of twenty (20) feet from side & rear lot lines, of the Burton Township Zoning Resolution as amended June 14, 2017. He requests that this be granted for the lot located at 13470 Hotchkiss Road, Burton Township, OH 44021.

***Board of Zoning Appeals Public Hearing – Thursday – 07/25/2019 at 7:00 p.m. the continuation for an application #1439-19, submitted by Brian Ballash requesting relief from Article IV, Section 402.7, Paragraph B, Subsection 1 & 2, Minimum Front Yard and Side Yard Setback, of the Burton Township Zoning Resolution as amended June 14, 2017. They request that this be granted for Parcel #04-017000 located on Roselawn Drive, Burton Township, OH 44021.

Generally, zoning regulations are created in order to maintain certain minimum standards for the township, thereby preserving and enhancing property values. Townships are authorized to enact zoning in accordance with Section 519 of the Ohio Revised Code

Burton Township - Rick Gruber Zoning InspectorZoning Inspector

The zoning inspector is appointed by the board of trustees for the purpose of enforcing the provisions of the zoning resolution.

Zoning Inspector meets every Tuesday from 7:30 to 8:30 pm at the Administration Building.

Zoning Commission

The zoning commission meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm.

The Zoning Commission is comprised of five Burton Township residents and two alternate members who are appointed by the Board of Trustees. These volunteers are responsible for reviewing and offering a recommendation on all text and map amendments to the Zoning Resolution prior to the Trustees final determination on an application.

Board of Zoning Appeals

The Zoning Board of Appeals is quasi-judicial board comprised of five Burton Township residents and two alternate members who are appointed by the Board of Trustees. These volunteers hear and decide upon appeals to administrative zoning decisions, requests for variances and conditional use applications.
