***Board of Zoning Appeals Public Hearing – Thursday – 05/16/2019 at 7:00 p.m. for an application #1438-19, submitted by Jack & Cheryl Kelley requesting relief from Article IV, Section 402.7, Paragraph A, Subsection 1, Front Yard Setback, of the Burton Township Zoning Resolution as amended June 14, 2017. They request that this be granted for Parcel #04-099350 located on Butternut Road, Burton Township, OH 44021.
Generally, zoning regulations are created in order to maintain certain minimum standards for the township, thereby preserving and enhancing property values. Townships are authorized to enact zoning in accordance with Section 519 of the Ohio Revised Code
The zoning inspector is appointed by the board of trustees for the purpose of enforcing the provisions of the zoning resolution.
Zoning Inspector meets every Tuesday from 7:30 to 8:30 pm at the Administration Building.
The zoning commission meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm.
The Zoning Commission is comprised of five Burton Township residents and two alternate members who are appointed by the Board of Trustees. These volunteers are responsible for reviewing and offering a recommendation on all text and map amendments to the Zoning Resolution prior to the Trustees final determination on an application.
The Zoning Board of Appeals is quasi-judicial board comprised of five Burton Township residents and two alternate members who are appointed by the Board of Trustees. These volunteers hear and decide upon appeals to administrative zoning decisions, requests for variances and conditional use applications.
