Upon the recommendation of the Geauga County Prosecutor’s Office, Burton Township has reduced its regular meeting schedule to the following and the Burton Township Trustees recommend the following precautions when attending any meeting.  All meetings are held at Township Administration building located at 14821 Rapids Road, unless otherwise noted.  The Burton Township Trustees will meet on the first Monday of each month (subject to change).

***Trustees Special Meeting – Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. This meeting will discuss OPWC disbursement authorization, American Rescue Plan funding and executive session to discuss pending litigation ***

***Trustees Special Meeting – Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. to cover regular business***

***Zoning Commission Regular Meeting – Monday – September 13, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.***

***Board of Zoning Appeals – Public Hearing – Tuesday – August 31, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.  To consider application #1529-21, submitted by Andrew Miller requesting an area variance in regards to Free Standing Solar Energy Panels located at 14995 Durkee Road.  Click for details***    

***Tuesday Night Zoning Hours Have Been Cancelled.  Please contact the Assistant Zoning Inspector, Joanne George at 440-834-4236 with any Zoning questions or concerns.***

Burton Township Meeting Practices

  1. Anyone having a temperature of 100 degrees or more prior to meeting shall not attend.
  2. Anyone having been recently exposed to COVID-19 prior to meeting shall not attend.
  3. Hard surfaces in the meeting room shall be wiped down with Clorox.
  4. Hand sanitizer and masks will be available for public’s use.
  5. Chairs will be spaced 6′ apart of the recommended social distancing.
  6. Front door may be propped open, weather permitting.

Slitor Cemetery driveway is undergoing improvements at this time.  You will be able to access the Cemetery during the project, however there may be delays upon entering and exiting.  We thank you for your patience.
