Upon the recommendation of the Geauga County Prosecutor’s Office, Burton Township has reduced its regular meeting schedule to the following and the Burton Township Trustees recommend the following precautions when attending any meeting

***The Burton Township Trustees will meet on the first Monday of each month.  Next scheduled meeting is Monday – August 3, 2020 at 7:30 p.m.  Trustees will present the JEDD Agreement at a public hearing Monday – August 17, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.***

***Tuesday Night Zoning Hours Have Been Cancelled.  Please contact the Assistant Zoning Inspector, Joanne George at 440-834-4236 with any Zoning questions or concerns.***

***Zoning Commission regular meetings have resumed.  The next regular meeting is Monday – August 10, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.***

Burton Township Meeting Practices

  1. Anyone having a temperature of 100 degrees or more prior to meeting shall not attend.
  2. Anyone having been recently exposed to COVID-19 prior to meeting shall not attend.
  3. Must be pre-registered to attend all meetings due to COVID-19, space is limited.*
  4. Hard surfaces in the meeting room shall be wiped down with Clorox.
  5. Hand sanitizer and masks will be available for public’s use.
  6. Chairs will be spaced 6′ apart of the recommended social distancing.
  7. Front door may be propped open, weather permitting.





The Geauga County Planning Commission, along with its consultant, Envision Group, LLC, is embarking on a public engagement process to gather community input for an update to the Geauga County General Plan to guide future policy decisions and development.
